This collection is made from reclaimed wood, over 100 years old, sourced from a small village in Transylvania. For decades, the wood remained hidden underground, preserved in silence until it was rediscovered. Each piece carries a history that began long before us – shaped by time, pressure, and tranquility.
An extraordinary detail from the history of this place dates back to World War II (1939–1945). During the war, the area was occupied by Soviet soldiers, a fact confirmed by a remarkable discovery we made during the demolition of the barn: a pistol hidden within its structure. The story was shared with us by a grandmother from the village, who preserved these memories and passed them down through generations.
We discovered this forgotten material in the darkness and brought it back to light. Through a careful process of restoration and processing, we transformed it into something new, while preserving its authentic character, texture, and natural beauty.
Now, the wood begins a second life – refined, timeless, and reinterpreted. Framed in the RIFT Recycled Rustic Mirror, it continues to tell its story, reflecting both the past and the present. Each piece in the RIFT Collection is not just a product, but the continuation of a story that began a century ago.
